Migraine Treatment
Headache treatment that starts with the right question: why?

Migraines are complex. Your treatment should be too.
Migraines are among the most debilitating — and most mismanaged — neurological conditions. They affect more than work and productivity. They affect family life, relationships, sleep, and the ability to simply function. They are also far better understood than most patients are told.
Migraines can be triggered by issues with the body’s nerves, vascular system, hormonal changes, and more. The reason so many patients cycle through medications without lasting relief is that the medication addresses the episode — not the mechanism behind it.
At the National Headache Institute, we take a systematic approach: identifying the pattern and triggers of your migraines, investigating the neurological and physiological factors involved, and designing a treatment plan that targets the specific drivers of your condition.
Who Is this For?
- Patients experiencing recurring migraine episodes (with or without aura)
- Patients whose medication has stopped being effective
- Patients who have never received a thorough diagnostic evaluation
- Patients who want to reduce both the frequency and severity of attacks long-term
Chronic headache treatment
15 or more headache days a month is not normal. It's a diagnosable condition.
Chronic daily headache — defined as headache occurring 15 or more days per month for more than three months — is a serious disorder that requires a serious, structured approach.
Many chronic headache patients have been in a cycle of symptomatic medication for years. In many cases, that medication has become part of the problem: overuse headache, or rebound headache, is one of the most common drivers of chronic daily head pain — and one of the least explained.
We address chronic headaches systematically. We evaluate the full diagnostic picture, identify primary and secondary contributing factors, review medication history carefully, and build a long-term management plan designed to reduce frequency, break the cycle, and restore quality of life.
Cluster headache treatment
If you've had cluster headaches, you know there is nothing quite like them.
Cluster headaches are one of the most severe pain conditions known to medicine — yet they are frequently undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years. Patients describe the pain as excruciating, behind one eye, occurring in predictable clusters that can last weeks or months before remitting.
Despite their severity, cluster headaches are treatable. The key is accurate diagnosis and a treatment approach that is specific to the cluster pattern, the phase of the cluster period, and the individual patient’s history.
At the National Headache Institute, we are experienced in the full diagnostic and treatment workup for cluster headache, including identifying the most effective acute and preventive strategies for each patient’s pattern.
Cervicogenic headache treatment
Not all headaches start in the head.
Cervicogenic headache is one of the most commonly missed diagnoses in headache medicine. It originates not in the brain, but in the cervical spine — the joints, nerves, and soft tissue structures of the upper neck — which refer pain directly into the head.
Patients with cervicogenic headache often present with headaches that worsen with neck movement, are accompanied by neck stiffness, and do not respond to standard migraine treatments. Many have been managing their pain for years without anyone identifying the cervical origin.
We take a thorough musculoskeletal and neurological approach to diagnosing cervicogenic headache — evaluating the upper cervical spine for the specific structural or nerve-related dysfunction that is generating the pain — and treating the cause directly.
